At Brad Z Ranch, we recognize that the land is an important asset.
In fact, our business is to sell forages by converting it to beef. As a result, we take pride in caring for the land and all of our natural resources. The rolling hills of Guthrie County, Iowa, provide an excellent environment for our operation: many of our pastures include acres of timber and both ponds and streams. We share our land with many species of wildlife, including deer, turkey, pheasants, and coyotes.

We look at ourselves as active environmentalists rather than environmental activists. In other words, we put our ideas into practice. Over the years, we have worked to lead the charge in reducing erosion, both in tilled and forage-based systems. Rotational grazing, strip cropping, and limited access to water are ideas that we have taken for granted for years.
Recently, we were honored to be chosen as regional winners of the Environmental Stewardship Award from the National Cattlemen's Beef Association. We are proud to be recognized for our focus on preserving the land.
